Welcome to the Tribe.

Higher ground tattoo was established by Nick and Justin Giordano in 2016 with help from their longtime friend and business mentor Todd Coughlin.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nick and Justin grew up seeing their father’s paintings and hearing his friends rehearsing their original grunge music in the shanty garage of their first home.  Art has always come naturally to the Giordano brothers and tattooing has provided a challenging and rewarding outlet for them to continually learn from and contribute to.

Justin was attracted to tattooing at a young age and eventually got his first full apprenticeship with Rick Trip at Trip ink in Las Vegas on Dean Martin and Tropicana.

Nick was pushing carts working at Costco one scorching mid summer day in 2015, when Justin drove up alongside him with an ear to ear grinning smile. When asked why he was smiling, Justin said, "goinnn to tha tattoo shop brahhh!" This was a remarkable moment of realization for Nick and the beginning of a new life where writing lyrics to original songs on cardboard in between multiple part time jobs and drawing on everything that pen and paint adhere to eventually transformed into a soul satiating careers.

“This was a remarkable moment of realization.”

The brothers eventually graduated what can be described as a traditional apprenticeship and went on to tattoo at several different local tattoo shops until Nick eventually saved up enough money to open their first location on Rainbow and 215. With the help of Justin’s amazing wife Rowshi, they as a family have been not only been professionally tattooing since, but also filling out all the appropriate paper work!

Higher Ground Tattoo is currently located at 4375 South Buffalo suite #104 LV, NV 89147 and a 2nd location is being considered.

Our team of artists is a result of careful consideration. We don’t just insist on quality work from our small and mostly humble team of tattooers, we require quality people who can hold themselves accountable both in and outside of the tattoo shop, operate with integrity, and constantly push themselves to learn and grow.

So many people have supported our artistic journey along the way and become lifetime friends in the process.

Nick and Justin wouldn’t have a natural ability to care and love if it were not for their amazing Mom, Karen Giordano. Their Dad gave them the introduction to art and music and their mom gave them hearts of gold.

Those elements form the foundation of what Higher Ground Tattoo brings to every tattoo provided. There’s of course a lot of laughter and intermittent dancing at times too. Luckily we don’t take ourselves as seriously as we take our tattoos.
